CONGRATULATIONS Tallahatchie County Raising Highly Capable Kids Parent Academy Graduates!

TELA is proud to partner with Raising Highly Capable Kids, an evidence-based multi-lingual parenting program developed to build stronger families. With programs offered in English, Spanish, Arabic and Chinese, RHCK empowers parents with the confidence, tools, and skills they need to raise healthy, caring, and responsible children.

Over the past nine months, TELA has organized two cohorts of parents, grandparents, aunts and community members into the programs, held at Eva Covington Head Start Center (August – December 2023) and West Tallahatchie Head Start Center (February – May 2024). To date, 21 members of our community have earned their Raising Highly capable Kids Reziient KidzCertificate of Completion. Over 13 lessons, participants were provided manuals and teaching documents, completed exercises, and learned from each other as they shared stories about their lives and parenting experiences. Friendships, relationships and mutual respect were created during these classes.

Thanks to our amazing Tallahatchie County community members who provided free childcare and meals for each class. Building stronger families and a stronger community starts with everyone and we are very appreciative of your hours of volunteering and thoughtfulness.
