How We Do It

TELA Works Across the Full Early Learning Continuum

Birth to Age 3

Strategy: Strengthen foundational development by supporting families as a child’s first teacher.

  • Provide families with tools, trusted guidance, and home-based learning opportunities.
  • Build partnerships that help to ensure early learning milestones are met.

Age 4 (Pre-K)

Strategy: Ensure universal access to quality Pre-K and readiness for kindergarten.

  • Expand Early Learning Collaborative participation.
  • Promote readiness standards that integrate cognitive, emotional, and social growth.

Kindergarten to Third Grade

Strategy: Advance early childhood development and ensure children Thrive By Third grade.

  • Equip educators with training and tools to improve instruction.
  • Partner to support educational enrichment.

Our Cycle of Engagement moves communities from learning to alignment to collective action building shared momentum with each pass.

  • Inform: We exchange knowledge through two-way communication that surfaces community insights and aligns around a shared vision
  • Connect: We bring people together, create spaces for dialogue, and foster collaboration to strengthen relationships and shared purpose
  • Mobilize: Shared goals become shared steps, growing outward as more stakeholders join in shaping and advancing the work.

Each cycle deepens trust, strengthens networks, and expands opportunity ensuring that engagement is not a moment, but a movement that grows stronger over time.

To drive our Mission, TELA utilizes an iterative process we call Evaluate, Evolve & Execute every three years for Strategic Plans and every year for Annual Roadmaps.

Evaluate:

  • Collect the facts through shared data, real-time feedback, and stakeholder realities.
  • Review the landscape by looking at strengths, challenges, opportunities, and threats.

Evolve:

  • Define goals, objectives, strategies, and metrics that drive our mission.
  • Set shared work plans with specific steps to guide the work ahead.

Execute:

  • Activate shared work plans that align workstreams with internal teams and external partners, manage timelines, and promote strong outcomes.
  • Track progress at quarterly milestones and in weekly progress meetings and make needed adjustments along the way.
