How We Do It

TELA Works Across the Full Early Learning Continuum

Birth to Age 3

Strategy: Strengthen foundational development by supporting families as a child’s first teacher.

  • Provide families with tools, trusted guidance, and home-based learning opportunities.
  • Build partnerships that help to ensure early learning milestones are met.

Age 4 (Pre-K)

Strategy: Ensure universal access to quality Pre-K and readiness for kindergarten.

  • Expand Early Learning Collaborative participation.
  • Promote readiness standards that integrate cognitive, emotional, and social growth.

Kindergarten to Third Grade

Strategy: Advance early childhood development and ensure children Thrive By Third grade.

  • Equip educators with training and tools to improve instruction.
  • Partner to support educational enrichment.

TELA’s approach is built around a continuous cycle:

  • Inform — Listen and exchange information, ideas, and resources with families and educators
  • Connect — Strengthen relationships among those shaping early learning
  • Mobilize — Turn shared goals into coordinated action

We consistently and continually Evaluate & Evolve:

  • Reviewing progress toward strategic goals and measurable outcomes
  • Gathering feedback from families, educators, and community partners
  • Using local data to inform decision-making and resource alignment
  • Adjusting strategies to reflect what we learn

These continuous cycles help ensure that our work remains rooted in impact, relevance, and shared accountability to the children we serve.
