Leading for Children June 29 Convening

Members of the community came together on Thursday, June 29th at the Tallahatchie County Library over lunch for their first in-person community convening. This alliance of educators and community partners discussed how to understand trusting relationships and interactions while harnessing the power within each of us to be champions for children. The group included librarians, retired teachers, East Tallahatchie Consolidated School District School Board Members, and representatives from the following organizations: Delta Health Alliance, Tougaloo College Delta Partners Healthy Start Initiative, Mississippi Tobacco Coalition, Charleston Revitalization Arts Effort, Head Start Directors, Mississippi Department Human Service, Charleston Community Center, Mississippi Department of Child Protective Services, Leading for Children, and TELA.
