10 Reasons why the Pre-K Tax Credit Works!

To kick off our 2023 Year End Appeal, we are highlighting our work as a community leader to engage, educate and advocate for young children and their families in Tallahatchie County.

When you support our work with a donation to TELA, you qualify for a 1-to-1 state tax credit, keeping your tax dollars in Tallahatchie County, and investing in Mississippi Pre-K.

Join us between now and December 31st to count down “10 Reasons why the Pre-K tax credit works!

#10 – 10 Years of Early Learning Collaboratives

TELA kicked off 2023 with an entire week of activities including butterfly read alouds, art making, a butterfly sensory bin using pasta to represent key points in a butterfly life cycle, and songs about butterflies during circle time.

#9 – Week of the Young Child

This annual celebration of early learning, young children, their teachers and families encourages creativity, team building, music and more.

It was a full week of hands-on activities for our youngest learners!

#8 Transition to Kindergarten

TELA students toured kindergarten classrooms, got a free book, and met some wonderful teachers, librarians, principals, and more!

#7 – Pre-K Playground Groundbreaking

TELA broke ground at Charleston Elementary School for a new Pre-K playground and
outdoor learning space.

#6 – Tallahatchie County Back To School Expo

Gave away over 400 uniforms, 200 backpacks, 500 books and more to help children
gear up for the new school year.

#5 – Rezilient Kidz

A program that empowers parents to raise healthy, caring, and responsible children.

#4 – Field Trips

Students experience a hands-on approach to learning that engages their senses, sparks curiosity, and matures a child’s understanding of their community.

Keep Your Tax Dollars in the Community

The Mississippi Early Learning Collaborative Act of 2013 allows individuals and businesses to donate to approved Pre-K Collaboratives, such as TELA, and receive the equivalent as a full state tax credit up to $1,000,000.

The deadline to donate and qualify for the state tax credit is December 31st at MIDNIGHT.
