TELA Brings Community Leaders Together To Proclaim Week of the Young Child for Tallahatchie County

Tallahatchie Early Learning Alliance is excited to share that a group of Tallahatchie County mayors lent their pens to a proclamation declaring April 2–8, 2022, as the Week of the Young Child®. According to the event’s sponsor, the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), “The purpose of the Week of the Young Child® is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.”    If that sounds like a purpose that aligns perfectly with our mission to invest in quality early childhood education, well…we think so too! We’d like to offer a heartfelt “thank you” to our community leaders for their unified efforts in moving Tallahatchie County forward. A shared commitment to our children reinforces that unity, and we are so excited to celebrate them!
Here’s a list of the events taking place in Tallahatchie classrooms:
  • April 2: Kickoff
  • April 4: Music Monday
  • April 5: Tasty Tuesday
  • April 6: Balloon release, Work Together Wednesday
  • April 7: Artsy Thursday
  • April 8: Pizza party for parents, Family Friday
The Tallahatchie Early Learning Alliance (TELA) is a collaborative for quality early childhood education in Tallahatchie County, Mississippi.
